Quick Tip: Slab-a-Dab! (Video)

That's filter maintenance 101.  But, good PSA for folks that are learning.  And NEVER use petroleum jelly!  It's not good for the gasket/ring.  Silicone grease is your best bet.  Clean it and grease it every time you open it!

I tried vaseline, and although it worked it left behind an ugly looking goo after a couple of months of use. Would not recommend it, go out and get a tube of silicone grease for O-rings, or even spray on silicone works (spray in a rag and pull the o-ring through).
