Hey how do I change the pH of water to acidic? Coz most fish demand acidic water right? PS-Uhh I'm just starting out in the fish world

Hi Vishal, there are many products available. First find out your parameters for your water source. (pH, GH, and KH) once that is figured out, then I can help you pick the products that you would need.

Who says 2 fish species can't be called the same thing?

    • comment-avatar
      Josh L 11 months ago

Richard James, the Uaru is also considered the Poor Man's Discus, but so is the Severum. No matter they are both beautiful fish.

      Richard James 11 months ago

Josh L I've kept both and I think the Uaru is alot closer to discus in personality, plus the fry eat off the parents slime coat just like discus do. Plus they need similar parameters (temp, nitrates).

      Josh L 11 months ago

Hey Richard James, if you do a search for the "Poor Man's Discus", you will actually see that both the Uaru and Severum are mentioned. Another common name for the Uaru is the Triangle Cichlid. Regardless both fish are beautiful and they are just common names.

Josh L you are correct my friend, I like both fish but imo I think that Uaru resemble discus more than sevs do. Maybe sevs resemble the nice coloration and patters, and Uarus personality and behaviour?

I really wanted to add the dovii, but because of their overall size, I didn't want to promote a tank buster… But if you have the tank size, then go for it!

    NOTICE
My neon tetra is pregnant, and I don't want babies I got them 1 day ago. Will they find the eggs and eat them? Or are they too small? I'll be fine if 3-10 are left but I don't want 100 swimming about. Thanks.

Hi so can I add red devil with piranha? I have 4 red belly piranha, with a common pleco. Pleco runs the tank eats first and pushes them arround. All are happy together. I added Oscars x2 both got eaten after 2 weeks. What about red devil? My other tank has golden piranha with bumblebee ciclids and all live together.

      Josh L 9 months ago

Hey Kosie, that sure is a mix. I personally wouldn't keep that mix or add a red devil to your piranha tank.
