The Prexo 3100 UV Bio-Pressure Filter by Cobalt Pond delivers effective multi-stage filtration to keep your pond water clean and crystal clear! It also features a UV water clarifier which destroys free-floating green algal cells and bacteria blooms that cause green and cloudy water (without chemicals!). A semi-transparent pipe-fitting allows you to easily verify that the UV light is functioning, and unwanted dead algae and bacteria cells are removed by the filter. This innovative, Italian-made filter is easy to conceal as it can be partially buried below ground near your pond. The Prexo 3100 UV is designed with a waste chamber located at the bottom of the filter where larger solid waste is captured before it can obstruct water flow through the filter media. When the integrated backwash system is engaged, the accumulated waste is flushed out a separate hose without requiring that the filter be opened or dismantled. Kinshi Sponge - This unique filter media is designed specificially for filtering Koi and Goldfish ponds. The Kinshi material screens out larger particulates that pass through the waste chamber. The special low density mesh design is highly resistant to blockage, and provides surface area for beneficial bacterial colonies to develop. This guarantees highly effective biological filtration.
Bio-Globes - These spherical-shaped "bio-balls" are designed to provide the largest surface area for cultivating benefical bacterial colonies. This advanced design allows the polypropylene globes to "squish" without reducing water flow through the media.
Filter Sponges - Before being returned to your pond, water is filtered again by 2 layers of filter sponges to trap particulates and debris. The large surface area of the sponges also provides additional space for nitrifying bacteria to colonize, increasing the size of the biological filter.
The Prexo 3100 UV includes filter media, hose barbs fittings, and accessories. It also includes a 3-year manufacturer's warranty for quality assurance and piece of mind.
