The C-530 is a large capacity filter, designed to handle large volumes of water and heavy waste loads. This filter has an incredibly sturdy design with strong, reliable rubber sealing rings and heavy-duty clamping locks. Featuring an innovative child-proof locking disconnect valve, a handy push-to-prime feature, and stack n'flo media baskets with handles for stress free maintenance and virtually no media by-pass. Multiple stages of mechanical, chemical, and biological filter materials will effectively polish water of particulate debris, harmful contaminants, odors, and discoloration. For most effective results, maintain this filter and replace cartridges monthly. This filter has a flow rate of 530 gph- with media! All media (Rite Size X) and hosing is included, along with intake and a directional output assembly. The manufacturer rates this filter for aquariums up to 150 gallons, and it can be used in both freshwater and saltwater applications.

i have used many hang on tank filters before, but this canister kicks butt. easy to setup and install. not any louder than an air pump and very versatile with the four media baskets. it is heavy when filled with water,( holds around 7 gallons). i would recommend this filter to any one with a larger tank.i would also use a c-160 0r a c-220 on any smaller tanks.

It last 9 months and then the motor quit. It did a good job until then and I have no other complaints. I had another brand prior to this and it is still running after 7 years. I had expected better out of Marineland.

About Me Casual Fish Keeper
Comments about Multi-Stage Canister Filter - C-220:
Purchased this unit (46g tank) to replace an old Rena. Was easy to set up, but the outlet port does not sit far enough into the water, and leaks. The biggest issue is a loud rattling noise from the impeller. Many attempts were made to quiet the unit, but eventually it was unplugged. So noisy we couldn't watch TV! Customer service offered no assistance, so the product was returned the next day. Stay away!!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Marineland Multi-Stage Canister Filter C160:
The pros and cons just about say it all. I have been using Fluval canister filters until now, and the C160 Marineland primes much better than the Fluval. I also like the hoses more on this unit, not ribbed!

Great product, Great water flow, this filter move a lot of water, but the best thing is that the customer services was great, I had some questions and email Bigals and Thomas B. returned my emails very fast and answered all my questions.

Comments about Multi-Stage Canister Filter - C-360:
This filter was good for about 8 months, until it started leaking. I will be returning it and hopefully will be exchanged. Barring an exchange or repair, I will switch to Eheim.

Have owned 6 of these, all three sizes for my three aquariums. I have had all for nearly a decade now and have only had to send one in for service due to general wear and tear. I can not complain about that at all. I have been super happy with the performance of these filters and the longevity I have seen from them. In my opinion from what I am reading based on the negative reviews on here 9/10 negative reviews are most likely due to user error. If you use this filter properly and do monthly maintenance on it including cleaning the hoses and motor housing you will have absolutely no issue. I love these, the flow rate isnt super high on them but this is because there is little by pass and ample water filtration through the media baskets. Bottom line best filter I have owned in comparison to fluval, ehiem(very close competitor), and rena. I have also used a million(not really) hang on back filters and will never go back to them.

Way Too loud!
from southern california
The 530 is very large but was easy to put together. Simple to maintain as long as one doesn't need to move it. When I plugged it in. I was very disappointed in the noise, as I read the theses filters were very quiet. It was not. I ran it for a week, hoping it would settle in and quiet down. It didn't. It could be heard from every room in our 2300 sf ranch home. I ran it for a week off and on . replaced the impeller. No luck. Just a very loud filter that I can't use
Great, useful product

I use 2 C-360 on a 75g single Oscar tank, in addition to an Emporer 400. I have one running more for Mechanical filtration and the other running more Bio filtration. Each does the job great. These filters also give great surface agitation to help cycle oxygen in the water. Easy to setup and easy to clean.
from Deland Fl.
I own two of the C-360's running on my 55gal and 46 bow front and am looking at getting the next level up for my 125 gal tank.I was amazed by how clean my tank water became without constant water changes. The unit is quiet and nearly maint. free. Replacement polisher and carbon pouches can get expensive. So I use 100 micron pads and media bags to replace carbon. With my smaller tanks (55/46) I change carbon about once a month and wash the micron pads and I'm back online. I highly recommend this product.
