      Q:

My aquarium is 220 Gallons salt water. I plant to use all 3 - Bio clean, bio support, and bio conditioner. Which product should I use first, second and third? Which product should I turn off skimmer? and how much should I dosing for each product. Thank you

Asked on 2/10/2015 by The An from Toronto

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

You should turn off the skimmer when dosing any of these products. Water conditioner should be used when mixing up new water to neutralize chlorine, chloramines, and harmful heavy metals. Bio-Support is used next to replenish beneficial bacteria and boost the bio filtration of the aquarium. Bio-Clean is used periodically to remove detritus or built up waste in the aquarium; we recommend doing a water change after 24-48hrs and adding Bio-Support to help prevent ammonia spikes.

    • Multi-Purpose Water Conditioner - 16 fl oz

      Q:

I have used this product for the initial set up of my tank and have used it twice for water changes. I switched to a product call PRIME which I now use to treat my water. I have noticed that some of my fish have some fin damage, and now want to use Big Al's Multi-purpose to treat the minor fin nips. Can I use it now that I have used PRIME as my main water conditioner?
Asked on 1/18/2015 by Al's pal pat from Toronto, Ontario Canada

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

I wouldn't use both. I would continue to use Prime with Stress Guard, Prime with Melafix, or switch to Stress Coat and Melafix.

      Q:

Will it remove / neutralize the iron in my well water?
      Asked on 1/7/2013 by Anonymous

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

You should run your well water through a reverse osmosis unit. This will be the best way to ensure your iron is removed. The Big Al`s Multi-Purpose Water Conditioner will remove heavy metals but if your iron level is very high a reverse osmosis unit will be more beneficial.
