          Comments about Filter Media Bag - 12" x 8":

I bought these to contain filter media in my Eheim Classic canister filter. The mesh has no problem holding Seachem Matrix Carbon and PhosGuard.

For a canister filter you'll have to get the 12"x8" bags as anything smaller will not be able to fill the width of the canister and will allow bypass.

The draw string will not hold the bag closed on its own, so rather than knotting the cord I just tied it around the neck of the bag itself. It's now very secure and I've had no spills. Tuck the cord underneath the bag to keep it away from impellers.

Wet, fine media can be annoying to remove. Just let it dry or use a blow-drier on low to remove the moisture and it will pour right out.

            Comments about Filter Media Bag - 5" x 3":

I use this in my Cascade 1200 for biomedia and charcoal when needed... but also hang on back filter. It allows me to buy the charcoal and biomedia in bulk and save a lot of money. It is a great alternative to buying stock filter material.

            Comments about Filter Media Bag - 5" x 3":

This bag is made well and can hold the tiny Seachem Matrix Carbon media without leaking out.
But I had to make sure to tie the drawstring very tight with a double knot.

I should have bought the larger 8"X6" bag instead. The larger bag could hold more media and still fit into the media basket in my Eheim canister filter.

Good bag but get the larger size!!!

                    A:

A micron rating is not provided by the manufacturer. This product is suitable for carbon and other media of similar size. Resin media such as Purigen will slip through the weave of this bag.
